Mr Kin Cheng is a retired Medical Technologist / Lab Scientist trained in Canada. He obtained his Canadian certification (R.T.) through the national certification body of the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS), and later achieved an Advanced Certification in Haematology (A.R.T.), and Quality Laboratory Management Certificate through the University of British Columbia. He also has a Green Belt designation in Sensai Workflow Improvement. His 45+ years career in lab Haematology include being the Regional Lab Scientist for the two largest health regions with over 25 hospital labs in the Province of British Columbia. He was an invited guest speaker in many Provincial conferences, a National Certification examiner, a laboratory accreditation inspector, lecturer at the medical lab training program, Board member for the Provincial Society of Medical Lab Science and many other volunteering adventures. He topped his career off as the laboratory manager of a medical lab in his region. He is the founder of the Haematology Interest Group (HIG) on Facebook. The HIG currently has over 74,000 members from many countries around the world. The mandate of the HIG is to share laboratory Haematology education with its members.
